Reliable sources reported that the political detainee Mohamed Adel was subjected to a severe physical assault and attempted strangulation inside the Tenth of Ramadan Prison - Rehabilitation 4, on Saturday, January 10, by a number of criminal inmates, amid direct accusations against the prison administration of complicity and deliberate negligence regarding the incident.
Details of the incident:
▪️ During a visit by one of Mohamed Adel's relatives on the mentioned date, unusual movements were noticed from security personnel and officers after food was brought in for the visit.
▪️ They were verbally informed that Mohamed “refused the visit,” without providing any written statement in his own handwriting, which the family completely denied.
▪️ Two days later, on January 14, the family managed to visit him, where he appeared in a deteriorated health condition and had lost significant weight due to a hunger strike that had been ongoing for 47 days.
