According to available information, there were about 8 deaths inside Badr 3 Prison in 2025 alone, including 5 cases in just the last five months, all of which are linked to recurring patterns of medical neglect.

The medical violations include:

Inappropriate treatments
Deliberate delays in providing treatment
Preventing patients from accessing specialized clinics or hospitals

Detainees suffer from strict restrictions on healthcare, as they are allowed to visit clinics only once a week, even in critical cases. When a condition deteriorates, there are deliberate delays under the pretext of transfer or waiting for “security approvals.”

Testimonies indicate that the doctors working in the prison rely on outdated treatment protocols and verbal diagnoses, leading to serious errors, despite the presence of detainees who are doctors and professors of medicine inside the prison.

Complaints against Dr. Mohamed Al-Barbari (the prison doctor and ophthalmologist) for signing incorrect medical records, providing incorrect measurements for glasses, refusing to conduct re-examinations, and threatening patients.
Complaints against Dr. Ahmed Mabrouk (the vascular doctor) for insulting and verbally abusing patients who objected to the diagnoses and treatments.
