The detention of journalist Safaa Al-Korbeji has been renewed for 15 days
The Supreme State Security Prosecution has decided to renew the detention of journalist Safaa Al-Korbeji for 15 days pending investigation in case No. 7256 of 2025, Supreme State Security.
Al-Korbeji faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, financing terrorism, and using an electronic account to commit a crime.
During the renewal session, Al-Korbeji denied all the charges and rejected any connection to the account under investigation, requesting her release, noting her deteriorating health condition and her responsibility for caring for her mother and sister, from within the rehabilitation center in 10th of Ramadan – Sector 4.
The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center calls for an end to the persecution of journalists and for the cessation of fabricating charges without evidence or legal basis.
