Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights monitors the ongoing tragic crime of enforced disappearance committed against citizen “Hassan Saeed Muhammad Al-Ghoul” (54 years old, a worker at one of the general contracting companies), since his arrest on 23 December 2016, without any disclosure—until this moment—of the location of his detention or his fate.

📌 Details of the Arrest and the Context of the Disappearance:

Security Ambush and Abduction: He was arrested at a security checkpoint “Jaal” on the road (Bir Al-Abd – Jefjafa) in North Sinai Governorate, while he was on his usual way to work in the “Jabal Sahaba” area, where he had been working as part of a contracting project in cooperation with the Armed Forces (the site includes a crusher and an asphalt mixing plant belonging to two units for operation).

Suffering Extending for a Full Decade: The family stated that they received no information whatsoever about his whereabouts or legal status throughout nearly ten years of complete absence of news, amid severe humanitarian suffering and growing fears for his life and safety.

Al-Shehab Center holds the security authorities fully responsible for the safety of citizen Hassan Al-Ghoul, and calls for:

Immediate Disclosure of the Place of Detention: The Public Prosecutor and the relevant authorities must urgently disclose his whereabouts and fate after nearly a decade of disappearance.

Allowing the Family to Communicate: Immediate permission for his relatives to contact him to verify his physical and psychological condition.

Ensuring Physical Safety: Guaranteeing his full protection and stopping all unlawful practices that violate the Constitution and international covenants.

Immediate Release: Releasing him immediately unless there are correct legal charges that require him to be presented to a competent judicial authority under conditions of fair trial.
