12 Years Behind Bars: The Forced Disappearance of “Abdullah Rabie” After a Court Order for His Release, Following His Arrival at the Zaqaziq Police Station
🔴 12 Years Behind Bars: The Forced Disappearance of “Abdullah Rabie” After a Court Order for His Release, Following His Arrival at the Zaqaziq Police Station
Al-Shehab Human Rights Center calls for the immediate disclosure of the fate of the young man “Abdullah Rabie” (30 years old) and for his release, after he was subjected to the crime of enforced disappearance and his liberty was confiscated as soon as he arrived at the police station of the Zaqaziq Center to complete the procedures for his judicial release.
📌 The Path of Abuse and the Theft of Youth Years:
Arrest in Childhood: His targeting began in 2014, when he was a student at Ain Shams University at the age of 18. He was detained in the area of the university villas in Zaqaziq and was held in enforced disappearance for 40 days before his case was referred to military prosecution.
Successive Rulings and Extended “Rotation”: He was re-arrested in April 2015, and a sentence of 3 years in prison was issued against him in the case of the Zaqaziq University events, along with another military sentence of 5 years. His detention then continued, with his transfer (“rotation”) in connection with successive cases.
Enforced Disappearance After Release Was Ordered: After a final judicial decision was issued ordering his release and transferring him to the police station of the Zaqaziq Center to complete the procedures, the authorities refused to release him and instead subjected him to enforced disappearance without any legal basis.
The Loss of 12 Years of His Life: Abdullah Rabie spent nearly 12 full years inside prisons (through his youth from age 18 to 30), while his family waits for the law to be implemented and for the nightmare of his detention to end.
⚖️ Demands of Al-Shehab Center:
Immediate Disclosure of His Detention Location: Urgently reveal where Abdullah Rabie is being held and his legal and health status.
Implementation of the Court Decision: Release him immediately in execution of the court order issued to release him, and put an end to security delays.
Stop the Policy of “Rotation” and Enforced Disappearance: Prohibit the use of “structural” cases as a means to keep those against whom acquittal verdicts or release decisions have been issued in detention.
Enable Access for the Defense and Family: Allow his family and his lawyer to communicate with him directly to ensure his life and safety.
