⚫ After 13 years of detention… The mother of Anas Al-Beltagi writes about the pain of absence

The mother of Anas Al-Beltagi wrote on her Facebook account, on the anniversary of her son's arrest, thirteen years ago:

“On this day, thirteen years ago, nearly 4750 days, my beloved son Anas was arrested…

Years, months, days, and hours have been and continue to be among the heaviest that our hearts have endured.

We have been deprived of him, and he has been deprived of us; we have shared the pain, absence, and injustice together.

We live the anguish of loss while he is alive within the walls of oppression.

O Allah, we bear witness that we will not forgive those who separated us from him and from his father,

for if our rights are lost on earth, they are not lost with You.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

(And do not think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do; He only delays them for a Day when the eyes will stare in horror)

O Allah, heal our hearts, and grant us relief after patience,

and after the absence, a near reunion with no separation thereafter.”

The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights emphasizes that the continued detention of Anas Al-Beltagi throughout these years represents a grave violation of the right to freedom and family reunification, reflecting a pattern of prolonged suffering that affects both detainees and their families alike.

The center demands the immediate release of Anas Al-Beltagi, the cessation of all practices and violations against him, and the respect for his guaranteed human and legal rights.
