🔴 Serious escalation inside Wadi al-Natrun Prison 440: assaults, torture, and solitary confinement of three detainees amid anger and preparations for an open-ended hunger strike
The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center reports that the head of investigations at Wadi al-Natrun Prison 440, officer Mohamed Abdel Muttalib, and National Security officer Abdullah Habib (known as: Mohamed al-Lahouni), along with several assistants, informants, and criminal inmates, carried out a brutal assault on three political detainees inside the prison.
📍 Details of the assault:
• At 4 PM last Wednesday, a security force stormed room 7 A – block 2, and conducted a humiliating search that included insults and abuse.
• When the detainees objected, the force launched a severe crackdown, which included:
Severe beating with batons and electric sticks,
Stripping the detainees of their clothes,
Binding them from behind,
And dragging them to disciplinary cells.
• The detainees have been held since Wednesday afternoon without water, food, or clothing, and in dangerous health conditions, despite some suffering from chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes.

Abd al-Jid Radwan Abd al-Hamid Imara – Menoufia – detained since the dispersal of Rabaa
Salih Salih Abd al-Aty Youssef – Menoufia – detained since the dispersal of Rabaa
Yasser Mohamed Abd al-Rahim Barai – Ismailia – detained since the dispersal of Rabaa
Moreover, the prison administration dispersed the remaining inmates of room 7 A to other rooms, with threats of further abuse and transfer to distant prisons, leading to widespread anger inside the prison.

Sources inside the prison reported that the detainees are preparing to start an open-ended hunger strike on Saturday morning in protest against the repeated violations and to demand an end to the assaults and the return of the detainees to their places.
