Released from prison after 12 years, he disappeared forcibly before starting treatment.

🔴 He was released from prison after 12 years... but he disappeared forcibly before starting treatment

After more than a decade of imprisonment and harsh sentences, and despite being acquitted in the last fabricated cases against him, Professor Al-Mohandis Al-Sayed Ahmed Abu Ahmed (65 years old), a member of the People's Assembly for the Raml district in Alexandria, has been subjected to enforced disappearance since June 29, 2025, after being presented to the National Security Agency, without any legal basis, amid serious concerns for his life and safety, especially as he suffers from chronic illnesses that have worsened his condition.

▪️ He was arrested in 2013

▪️ He was granted release after two years of detention in the first case

▪️ Then he received a harsh prison sentence of 10 years, which ended on April 26, 2025

▪️ He was released from prison on May 27, 2025, and was subjected to security monitoring by the Raml police station, along with follow-up by the National Security Agency

▪️ On June 15, during his regular follow-up, he was charged in 3 new cases (Raml - Al-Gomrok - Bab Sharq)

▪️ He was granted release or acquittal in all cases, the last of which was on June 29, but he was not released after that date and was taken to an unknown location

The citizen suffers from chronic illnesses and had begun his treatment journey immediately after his release, but he could not complete it due to his disappearance. His family has no information about his detention location or health condition to this day, despite sending telegrams to the relevant authorities without any response.

🔻 The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights demands the immediate disclosure of the whereabouts of the citizen Al-Mohandis Al-Sayed Ahmed, enabling him to communicate with his family, providing him with the necessary healthcare, and holding accountable those responsible for his unlawful detention.
