Continued Enforced Disappearance of Hussein Salman Suleiman Mousa Since 2014 in North Sinai Governorate

Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights monitors the continued enforced disappearance of citizen Hussein Salman Suleiman Mousa, an employee of the Arish City Council in North Sinai Governorate, since 2014, without any disclosure of the location of his detention or his fate to date.

According to information received by the Center, news of Hussein has been absent since 2014, and no information has been available regarding his whereabouts or legal status, amid the continuation of his disappearance for nearly 12 years. This has raised fears for his life and safety, while his family suffers ongoing humanitarian hardship due to the continued ambiguity surrounding his fate.

Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights expresses its profound concern regarding the continued enforced disappearance of Hussein Salman Suleiman Mousa over these years. It stresses that depriving his family of knowing his fate constitutes a serious violation of fundamental rights, and calls for urgent intervention by the competent authorities to reveal the truth about what he has been subjected to.

The Center calls on the Public Prosecutor and the relevant authorities to immediately disclose his whereabouts and fate, conduct a serious investigation into the circumstances of his disappearance, ensure his physical and psychological safety, enable his family to be reassured about him, and release him unless he is being held pursuant to sound legal procedures.
