🟥 After five years in oblivion… The appearance of young man Mohamed Yahya before the State Security Prosecution

The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center confirms the appearance of young man Mohamed Yahya Rashad Farhat (31 years old), after an enforced disappearance that lasted for more than five years. He was presented on November 2nd to the Supreme State Security Prosecution, which decided to detain him for 15 days pending investigation in case No. 1126 of 2025, and he was placed in Badr 1 prison.

🔻 Incident details:

Mohamed is from the Yusuf al-Sidq Center in the Fayoum Governorate, and he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Fayoum University.

He was arbitrarily arrested on June 9, 2020, and taken to an unknown location without being presented to any investigative authority for a full five years.

He recently appeared unexpectedly before the prosecution after years of his family being denied knowledge of his fate.

🔻 Al-Shehab Center comments:

The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center considers Mohamed's appearance after such a long period a glimmer of hope for the appearance of other forcibly disappeared individuals, and it emphasizes that the continued enforced disappearance is a crime that does not lapse over time.

The center demands:

The immediate release of all forcibly disappeared individuals.

Enabling their families to know their fate and visit them.

Putting an end to these practices that violate the constitution, law, and international treaties.
