🔴 Six years of enforced disappearance.. Where is student Abdel Rahman Mohsen?
A plea from an Egyptian mother demanding the return of her only son: "I want to live the rest of my life with my son."
The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights renews its demand for the immediate disclosure of the fate of citizen Abdel Rahman Mohsen Said Abbas Al-Zuhairi, who has been forcibly disappeared for more than six years and three months. He was arrested on August 29, 2019, while he was a second-year high school student, at the age of 17.
His mother, in a painful plea, confirms that she has no information about his whereabouts or legal status to this day, and he has not been presented to any investigative authority. She does not know if he is detained or in which prison he is located, saying:
"I want my son… there is no time left to wait. I want to live the rest of my life with my only son. The national security took him from the street and he has not appeared since then. I plead with you, Mr. President, as a father before being a president… if my son did something, he has spent six years and three months imprisoned, deprived of everything."
His mother points out that she is a heart patient and lives only on the hope of seeing her only son after long years of loss, anxiety, and suffering.
The Al-Shehab Center confirms that the continued concealment of Abdel Rahman since 2019 without being presented to the prosecution or disclosing his place of detention represents a blatant violation of the law, the constitution, and international treaties.
The center demands:
- Immediate disclosure of his whereabouts
- Enabling his family and lawyer to communicate with him
- His release without delay
