🟥 A grieving mother searching for her sons for 8 years without any information about their fate
The mother of the forcibly disappeared Ahmed Mohamed El-Sawah and Osama Mohamed El-Sawah issues an urgent appeal to all officials in Egypt, after eight full years have passed since their disappearance without any trace or official information about their place of detention or their condition.
The mother says in a painful plea:
"I am a grieving mother searching for my sons for eight years, and there is no information about them.
My sons Ahmed and Osama were arrested by security forces from our home on February 13, 2018, and since then we have been searching for them everywhere and we cannot reach them or even hear their voices.
If my sons are guilty, why are they not presented to the prosecution for investigation?
And if they are not guilty... why are they imprisoned?
We die a thousand times every day...
The doctor and the engineer belong in building Egypt, not in prisons.
Please... have mercy on my heart, release my sons or at least tell me where they are."
Eight years of pain and confusion, without any response, without any legal action, and without revealing the truth about the fate of two young men who were preparing to continue their studies and build their future.
🔴 The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights demands:
The Attorney General to open an immediate and serious investigation into all complaints submitted regarding the disappearance of Ahmed and Osama El-Sawah.
Immediate disclosure of their whereabouts, and enabling their family to communicate with them.
To stop the crime of enforced disappearance and release the disappeared or present them to the relevant investigative authorities.
