🟥 12 years behind bars.. and 10 years without a visit
Today, Dr. Basem Awad completes his twelfth year inside Egyptian prisons, amidst ongoing violations against him and being denied visits for the tenth consecutive year.
His wife wrote today saying:
"Today my husband completes his twelfth year behind bars, ten of which have been without a visit.. I wonder how your features have changed, my dear!! Your features are etched in my heart and do not leave my mind for a moment, day or night… We live only with hope in God, and that is enough, for He is the best protector and the best supporter…
O Lord, to You I complain, You who knows his condition and ours, You are the Merciful and the Able, rescue him from the darkness of imprisonment as You rescued Yunus from the darkness of the seas.. And that is not difficult for God."
📌 Al-Shehab Human Rights Center demands the allowance of visits for Dr. Basem Awad, and enabling his family to exercise their legal and humanitarian rights to communicate and ensure his well-being.
