El-Shehab Center for Human Rights launches its annual report on executions in Egypt for the year 2025
On the World Day Against the Death Penalty, the El-Shehab Center for Human Rights releases its annual report titled
“Executions in Egypt 2025: Between the Violation of Justice and the Continuation of Political Executions”
The report documents the executions carried out during the year, the death sentences issued, and the cases marred by serious human rights violations and breaches of fair trial guarantees, including politically motivated cases and others where executions were carried out despite the absence of justice or the existence of evidence proving innocence.
The report highlights clear legal and constitutional violations in investigation and trial procedures.
It exposes the continued use of the death penalty as a tool of political repression against opponents.
It calls on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to stop executions and to guarantee every person’s right to life.
This report comes as part of the El-Shehab Center’s ongoing efforts to document grave violations of the right to life and to oppose the death penalty in all its forms.
