🔴 A new departure behind bars..

The detainee Ali Hassan Amer Abu Talib (75 years old) – Imam of the Osman Mosque in Kerdasa, retired teacher, from Al-Rawda Street in Kerdasa – passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, in his detention at Wadi al-Natroun Prison, after 12 years of incarceration in what is known as the Kerdasa Police Station events.


📢 Al-Shehab Human Rights Center confirms that Abu Talib's death resulted from the poor conditions of detention and the gross medical neglect suffered by thousands of detainees in Egyptian prisons.


⚖️ The center holds the Egyptian authorities fully responsible for his death and calls for an urgent and transparent investigation, as well as ensuring the basic rights of detainees, foremost among them the right to life and medical care.
