New Violation of the Right to Treatment: Ongoing Abuse in Egyptian Prisons

🔴 A new violation of the right to treatment.. and the abuse continues in Egypt's prisons


Detained individual Mohamed Abu Zaid Abdel Aziz Abu Zaid, 43 years old, who is imprisoned in Minya Prison, suffers from several serious illnesses, including hepatitis, spleen enlargement, gallstones, and esophageal varices, amidst severe obstinacy from the prison administration in transferring him to an external hospital for treatment, despite the continuous deterioration of his health condition.


🔹 Mohamed Abu Zaid is sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with the Tebin police station case and has been detained since 2013. He has been requesting to be released for treatment for nearly a year without any response.


📢 Al-Shehab Human Rights Center demands his urgent transfer for necessary treatment and holds the Ministry of Interior and the Prisons Authority fully responsible for his safety.
