As part of the 48th session of the United Nations Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the Shehab Center for Human Rights is issuing a human rights report on this occasion.
Through this report, the Shehab Center sheds light on the state of human rights in Egypt during the past period and exposes the practices carried out by the Egyptian regime—contrary to the recommendations made to Egypt during the 34th session of the UPR in November 2019. These practices include violations against political opponents and human rights defenders, torture and other forms of ill-treatment, arbitrary detention, unfair trials, the death penalty, enforced disappearances, and impunity.
